Ambra grisea alleviates itching, crawling or tickling sensation in the ears. Atropa belladonna acts on the vascular and nervous systems and treats mild otitis media, acute tearing pain in middle and external ear and throbbing deep in the internal ear. Capsicum annuum acts on the mucous membranes to relieve congestion in the Eustachian tube and burning pain associated with inflammation of aural tissue.

Ferrum phosphoricum has an anti-inflammatory action and can prevent development of symptoms when taken at the onset of ear infections. It helps relieve bulging and redness of the tympanic membrane. Hepar sulphuris calcareum acts on the lymphatic system and the mucous membranes to treat ear infections with suppurating discharges.

Pulsatilla vulgaris acts on the mucous membranes to relieve thick, offensive discharges associated with impaired hearing. Rhododendron ferrugineum is indicated for difficult hearing with whizzing and ringing in the ears. Silicea has a nutritive action on the whole system and promotes suppuration from the ears associated with acute and chronic otitis.

It also relieves noise sensitivity, roaring and pistol shot-like sounds in the ears. Zincum valerianicum has a sedative and analgesic effect and helps soothe pain associated with otitis. Dosage and Directions Take ten drops directly on the tongue or diluted in a little water three times daily. May be taken one to two hourly in acute cases while symptoms are severe.

Dilute with water for infants and leave to stand for a short time before administering. Reduce dosage with improvement of symptoms.
